Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation are offered to all students (K - 12th grade) enrolled in our Religious Education programs. Reconciliation is usually celebrated in the second grade. Preparation for this sacrament is incorporated into the 2nd grade Curriculum and also includes a day retreat. For those students older than second grade, other preparation is provided.
In third grade students prepare for both Confirmation and First Eucharist, and receive these sacraments together in a liturgical celebration in the spring. Preparation for Eucharist is incorporated into the 3rd grade curriculum. Older children who have not yet received First Eucharist and/or Confirmation prepare for the sacraments with in their own grade levels.
The parents of students preparing to receive Eucharist and Confirmation must attend two separate Family Confirmation Preparation classes. A one day family retreat is also required for Confirmant and parents. Students must have received First Reconciliation in order to receive First Eucharist and Confirmation, regardless of age.
